A former lieutenant in the Genesee County Sheriff's Office is facing multiple criminal charges.

According to WNEM, the former deputy has been charged by the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office and the charges include four counts of stalking and one charge of second degree criminal sexual assault.

Sheriff Robert Pickell held a news conference on Tuesday morning in which he spoke of the investigation. He said an investigation was started in late December after Detectives came to him with charges against 43-year-old Michael Chatterson who is accused of inappropriately touching female deputies in his office.

The sheriff terminated Chatterson on January 4th and said he was "mad as hell" at Chatterson "for using his position of authority to take advantage of a number of female employees."
