Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton has filed criminal charges against a Flint man involved in the shooting of a Flint Township Police Officer last week.

According to a news release from the Prosecutor's Office, 55-year-old Christopher Aaron Washington has been charged with two felony counts including carrying a concealed weapon and resisting and obstructing a police officer related to the January 23rd incident that left both Washington and the officer hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

The Prosecutor's Office says an investigation by the Michigan State Police into the entire incident remains ongoing and the possibility of additional charges will be reviewed by the Prosecutor upon completion of the investigation.
