Ted Nugent Appears in Donald Trump Campaign Ad
Warning against what he sees as a plague of "professional punk politicians" in the United States, Ted Nugent has filmed an appearance in a Donald Trump campaign ad that he's promoting on his social media channels.
In a new Facebook post, Nugent outlined his support for Trump's candidacy with a lengthy note that begins with a quote from his "logic, truth & commonsense buddy Albert Einstein" — you know, the one about how the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.
"Isn’t it time we quit doing the same thing by electing professional politicians to represent us and then hoping they do something different instead of punking us?" asked Nugent in the Facebook post. "Professional politicians on both sides of the political aisle have screwed over America. We have plenty of professional punk politicians, too few statesmen."
Accusing those politicians of putting the country "on the road to bankruptcy" and "[working] tirelessly to divide us instead of uniting us," Nugent went on to describe the government as a bloated "Fedzilla" and argued, "The list of high crimes and misdemeanors professional politicians have committed against us is the very stuff our forefathers declared their independence from, fought a revolution over, died for and warned us against allowing."
From Nugent's point of view, Trump's biggest qualification for office is that he's never been elected to one. "If you want to do something truly different and make America great again," he concluded, "he’s your candidate."
You can check out Nugent's appearance in the Trump ad above, and/or read the comments about it on his Facebook page, which range from wholehearted support for Nugent's views to dissenting opinions that are often profanely rejected by the guitarist himself.
