Michigan Principal Plays With Girl with Disability at Recess – The Good News
Excuse me, there's something in my eye.
Daun Taylor Facebooked about how her daughter, who has Cerebral Palsy, is having a hard time at school. Kids aren't being mean to her daughter, Lucy, but because she can't participate in the physical activities during recess, she often spends it alone.
Lucy is in second grade at Barth Elementary, part of the Romulus district. When Principal David Thompson found out about this, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Literally.
The post went viral and local news organizations picked up on it. And now that Principal Thompson has led the charge, other kids have joined their group, which is now called the "Bubble Squad."
Thompson told a Detroit news station that it's the "best part" of his day.
