It's a skill that you probably don't know that you need to have...until you DO.

The Mosley School of Cosmetology in Kentwood, Michigan has a "hair hope" program. It was started by salon owner Theresa Mosley back in 2018 with 11 moms and one dad - it teaches white parents how to do hair for the children of color that they're raising.

It's a four-hour class that teaches parents how to wash, braid and care for black hair. There are two types of classes - a free class and a more in-depth class, which costs $150.

Theresa started the program because she remembered being picked on in school because her hair wasn't done.
