Today, Flint Emergency Manager Michael Brown announced the hiring of Megan Hunter as the city’s new Chief Planner. Hunter is a Michigan native currently working as the City Planner, Harbor Region for the City of Los Angeles.

In Hunter’s role as Chief Planner, responsibilities will include guiding the city’s master planning process and establishing and managing a planning division within the city’s Department of Community and Economic development.

The city entered into a two year contract with Hunter that is set to begin on March 5th. She will receive an annual salary of almost $90,000. However, that salary is 100% paid from the Community Challenge Planning Grant awarded to the city from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
