A Competitive Eater from NY Came to Michigan for Food Challenges

Because what else is there to do during a pandemic?

Mark Gdd is a 35-year-old competitive eater and a dad from Albany, New York. And, just last week, he brought his gigantic appetite to the mitten state to enjoy some of the finest, and biggest, restaurant fare.

He's been traveling to different states to do food challenges and Michigan was next on his list. As you can see from the above video (which was shot in Ohio), he's pretty good at them. And, according to MLive, he does these challenges to keep his weight under control. Yes, really.

On October 13th, he started his Michigan food challenges at Bagger Daves in Grand Rapids.

He took on the Freight Train challenge, which he beat in about 11.5 minutes. The video will be posted on his YouTube channel on November 7th.

Mark's second stop was at City Limits Family Restaurant in Newaygo, where he took on their Triple Bypass Burger Challenge in 15 minutes and 56 seconds. The video will be posted on November 14th.
