Demolition crews have begun to tear down parts of Nightingale Lanes.

Nightingale Lanes on Davison Road in Burton was once a go-to place for many in Genesee County. These lanes served as a great place for area residents to go bowling for over 55 years before closing the doors permanently on December 31st, 2011 with one final New Year's Eve bowling party.

Since closing, the building has remained vacant at 4403 Davison Road. Over the last few days, however, those passing by the building saw some activity. Construction crews were on site and began to tear down the west side of the building. That particular end of the building is where you could find the bar, also known as Club Nightingale, and a small residence.

As of this morning (Monday, July 25th, 2022), only a small portion of the building has been torn down. I was hoping to talk to some of the workers while taking pictures today but unfortunately was not able to. With that said, does anyone know the full story of what is going to happen to the building?

One user on Facebook said the following:

They are only removing the residence side of the building, I've [sic] delt with the contractor multiple times for my work.

Another ventured the following prediction:

Probably gonna be a new parking lot for more GM trucks...

Does anyone know for sure? Let us know in the comments.

Personally, it is very sad for me to see this happen. Club Nightingale was where I did one of my first official live broadcasts in my radio career. I spent many Sunday nights broadcasting live there back in the day.
