European soccer fans continue to do their best to prove they are absolutely the most fired up in the world.

And we do mean ‘fired up.’

Legia Warsaw, the defending champion in the Polish league, was recently fined and ordered to shut down one of its stands after fans engaged in unspecified racist behavior on two separate occasions back in July.

Well, that disciplinary measure certainly ignited the fans, several of whom put on quite the pyrotechnics display during Tuesday’s playoff game. Could this displace the wave as the choice way to show team spirit? For safety’s sake, we hope not.

Sadly, Legia lost, ending its season. That should give fans plenty of time to go out and buy more fireworks for next season’s opener.
