Settlement Reached in Racial Harassment Lawsuit Aginst Hurley

A settlement has been reached in a racial harassment lawsuit against Hurley Medical Center. According to ABC12, the attorney for a laundry worker who sued Hurley made the announcement on Monday. Mark Hilliker was awarded $200,000 after charging that his African American supervisor repeatedly referred to him as "white boy" between October 2011 and February 2013. Hilliker was the only Caucasian working in the laundry department. The lawsuit happened right around the same time another lawsuit had been filed against Hurley for racial discrimination.
