“I like to thank my customers for supporting me and they were the ones who made me a success, actually. So, I couldn’t have done it without them."

If you stop into Parvizi in the Genesee Valley Center mall in Flint Township near closing time, you can still catch owner Perry Parvizi sweeping the floors himself before they close up shop.

The store will close on December 31st tentatively; if inventory sells out before that, it will close earlier.

Parvizi started back when he was 25-years-old at what is now Blackstone's; it used to be a men's clothing store and he swept the floors when he was a new employee. He told ABC 12 that he was promoted to stock boy, salesman, and then became manager. He then moved on to become the general manager of the three store locations.

Those stores closed in 1991, and that's when Perry and his brother Fred opened their own store at Genesee Valley Center mall.

And now, they're retiring and having a sale.
