NBC Delaying ‘Community’ and ’30 Rock’ Premieres HOW Long?
‘Community‘ fans are the first people to single out NBC for disregarding the show, by either never giving enough promotion, or changing its show-runner without so much of a phone call, and the newly-released official schedule for the fall is just icing on the cake. So just how long will we have to wait for fresh episodes of ‘Community,’ or even ‘30 Rock?’
NBC has officially released its fall schedule for its roster of upcoming premieres, as well as the return of existing shows, and it’s a doozy for ‘Community’ fans. Not only was the cult comedy series barely renewed for a 13-episode season sans Dan Harmon and pushed to Friday nights alongside ‘Whitney,’ now ‘Community’ will officially be the last of NBC’s premieres.
The fourth season of ‘Community’ will bow all the way on October 19th, a full month after its former Thursday night partners ‘The Office,’ ‘Parks and Recreation,’ and ‘Up All Night.’ Similarly pushed back is the final 13-episode season of ’30 Rock,’ which will premiere weeks in advance of ‘Community’ on October 4.
Elsewhere, NBC will begin previewing its new comedies as early as August, offering commercial-free previews of Matthew Perry’s ‘Go On‘ and ‘Weeds‘ star Justin Kirk’s ‘Animal Practice‘ to coincide with the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics.
