That's a LOT of people taking yesterday to do a service for the community.

Close to 800 people volunteered for the United Way of Genesee County yesterday at the Dort Financial Credit Union Event Center for a "day of service" in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

They all worked in teams of 12 to 15 people in an assembly line to pack more than 200,000 meals. Each meal can feed a family of 6. Each meal has enough vitamins in it for an entire day. The meals will be distributed to food pantries and shelters throughout Genesee County.

Really cool to see all of these people coming together for our community. Thank you!
