Flint is no stranger to water issues, but if you've been driving around lately and seeing water spewing out of the gutter, well that wasn't the only spot.

Luckily no boil water advisory was issued and it looks like it was just a water pressure issue that local engineers were able to eventually point out.

City Engineer Mark Adas says there have been 10 water main breaks since Tuesday due to a surge in water pressure.

Adas says there was a surge in water. On Tuesday, he says GLWA started pumping water at a higher rate than usual which caused a big problem because it was the same time the city was doing a necessary repair to the water tower -- replacing a valve that meant the water pressure wasn't being regulated properly. Since then the water main break has been fixed. Which in itself is a good sign for the city. From my experience from growing up in Flint usual major issues like this don't get resolved quickly, but this is definitely a change of times.
