The American Red Cross Genesee/Lapeer Chapter is inviting businesses to come have lunch and learn about simple, affordable solutions in preparing for workplace disasters, automated external defibrillators and the latest in health and safety training programs.

The Red Cross says the seminar is ideal for managers, safety and human resource professionals and those tasked with managing safety and emergency preparedness.

Some of the topics on the agenda include:

  • Defining the types of disasters all businesses must prepare for.
  • Identification of and solutions to common challenges including a small or nonexistent budget.
  • Choosing and supporting the team creating your Preparedness Plan.
  • How to build disaster supply and first aid kits.
  • Ways to communicate the plan and train employees.
