Genesee County Commissioner Brenda Clack, along with state Senator Jim Ananich, have announced they will host a public meeting next week to give a status report on the work of the Emergency Preparedness Committee. The Emergency Preparedness Committee was formed in response to recent damaging winter weather and has met four times since January. Their goal is to develop a plan that will provide services, whether emergency or otherwise to the citizens of Genesee County.

Clack says "the committee has been hard at work and we want to report to the public on our recommendations for improvements to the local emergency preparedness system, as we navigate through severe winter weather." She added the report "crosses many community, governmental and service agency lines" and this is just "a first step and we plan to keep the committee active in the future."

The meeting will be held on Monday, April 7th from 10 a.m. until noon at the Genesee County Administration Building located at 1101 Beach Street in Flint.
