Two men are under arrest after a woman was sexually assaulted near the U of M - Flint campus.

ABC 12 says a joint investigation between the Flint Police Department and U of M - Flint's Department of Public Safety led to the arrests Thursday afternoon. A video camera surveillance system allowed authorities to ID the suspects who were later spotted in the downtown area. After a foot chase, police captured and arrested both suspects.

The woman told police that around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, the suspects forced her to walk down by Flint River and the State of Michigan building on East Union Street where they raped and assaulted her before fleeing.

Michigan State Police have offered some tips to remain safe. They say if you are out walking late to please be on guard. Also if you have to walk somewhere, don't do it alone. Other tips include don't have your eyes glued on your phone and look around you and avoid lingering.
