Meredith Corporation, which owns WNEM TV-5, has dropped a breach of contract lawsuit against one of its former employees.

Nick Lulli left the Saginaw station after fulfilling only one year of his four-year contract. Meredith filed the lawsuit against Lulli in 2016 for $8,674.74. The amount was to cover the costs of recruiting Lulli and his replacement, training costs, employment-related taxes, overtime expenses, and for loss of productivity while training his replacement.

A countersuit filed by the former employee claims the contract was "extremely unjust" and accuses the station of discriminatory practices.

No reason for dismissing the lawsuit has been given.
