Want to Deliver Pizza? Food Bank of Eastern Michigan Looking for Volunteers

The food bank is looking for volunteer drivers for their Middle Mile program.

It's something we've all been saying for years - instead of throwing out leftover food at the end of the day at restaurants, why not donate it to homeless shelters?

That's exactly what the Middle Mile program is at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

Volunteer drivers pick a day, or two, or more to pick up pizzas from Genesee County Little Caesar's restaurants. The pizzas are left from the day before and frozen; drivers pick them up, log and temperature-check them, and take them to shelters, food pantries and non-profit organizations.
