There is a massive recall involving Volkswagen cars and SUVs due to a safety issue that can result in injury. According to WLNS, the Volkswagen recall covers 56,000 cars and SUVs in the U.S, the reason for it is because a rear coil spring can break without warning and have the driver lose control of the car or SUV.  A broken rear coil spring according to NHTSA can be a road hazard and also damage a tire which can cause an accident.

The recall doesn't cover all VW vehicles but it does cover 2015 through 2019 Golf hatchbacks, the 2017 through 2019 Golf Sportwagen, the 2019 Jetta sedan and 2018 and 2019 Tiguan SUV.

If your car or SUV is part of this recall you will be getting a notice and then your dealer can replace the part. More on it here.
