In case you were wondering, yes - this is VERY early in the year for a tornado in the mitten.

The real question is...who went to their basements when the sirens went off, and who went outside to look up at the sky? *raises hand* I'm guilty of the latter.

Severe thunderstorms roared through our listening area last night, leaving behind a serious path of damage. NBC25 Meteorologist Ahmad Bajjey called this morning, saying that the tornado touched down near Durand and possibly "jumped" into Flushing as well. They're assessing the damage this morning, and it appears to be an EF2 or EF3 tornado.

The most serious damage was to the Camelot Villa mobile home park. Luckily, there are no injuries reported at this time.
