The Flint Community Schools board has picked their candidate to take the vacant superintendent position, and his name is Bilal Tawwab.

Tawwab is currently the assistant superintendent for Detroit Public Schools, so he is no stranger to struggling school districts.

Tawwab definitely has his work cut out for him if he accepts the position.  On top of shrinking enrollment, there is the issue of a multi-million dollar deficit.  This is tough situation to step into especially with the huge teacher and staff cut looming.

The deal is far from done though as the district will begin negotiations with Tawwab as soon as possible.
