As if we needed another reason to hate the Kardashians...

At 8:46 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, most national news outlets took a break from their regular programming to air a special "moment of silence" from New York City and Washington D.C. to honor the victims of 9/11. We say "most" because, as it turns out, not everyone was a participant. While FOX, CBS, ABC, CNBC and MSNBC went quiet at this time, which was the moment 11 years ago when the first plane hit the Twin Towers, NBC continued on with the 'Today' show, which just so happened to feature an interview with Kris Jenner of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians.'

To make matters worse, as if that already wasn't a big slap in the face, the subjects under discussion were the upcoming seasons of the E! reality series and Mrs. Jenner's breast implants. Though the network's local affiliates aired the moment of silence, one would think the national coverage would follow suit.

Mediabistro's TV Newser was among the first to realize this heinous act and was later picked up by New York Magazine, who put together a video comparison of all the channels' coverage (shown below). Jenner even retweeted a message from one of her fans that reminded her to take a moment of silence during her interview. Guess she didn't pass along the message.

What do you think? Is this act an excusable oversight or should NBC air an apology on the 'Today' show? Check out the video footage comparison below and let us know what you think in the comments.
