The letter stated that his dog is eligible to receive $360 a week in unemployment benefits. The employer stated in the letter is a restaurant chain in Detroit.
According to WNEM, the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency is creating a special investigative unit to handle all the false claims. the UIA did send out the letter to Michael Ryder, but it was flagged as suspicious in the next step to file for unemployment.
