Genesee County Cutting Government-Issued Cellphones

As a way to help eliminate a $1 million budget deficit, Genesee County is cutting the use of government-issued cellphones for workers.

According to WNEM, the move would also trim future costs. Those who use their personal phones for work will now receive a monthly allowance.

The county spends about $300,000 annually on employee cellphones.
