According to a recent study, Flint is leading the nation in vacant homes.

ABC 12 says the study was done by Realty Trac. Flint topped the list with a vacancy rate of 7.2% - or 11,104 out of 153,000 - in residential properties.

Dave Blomquist, senior vice president of communications, said besides demand and values of the homes, the city's water crisis could be a huge reason. "When we look into at the Flint numbers, over the last few years, things have been improving. But this water crisis has definitely thrown a wrench into things."

Youngstown, Ohio was next on the list with 4.7% and Detroit came in third at 4.4.%.
