Update: After two delays due to weather, the work and detour is expected to begin on Sunday, May 18th and tun four days while construction workers perform fixes in the area.

A detour to a major stretch of I-75 is coming. According to MDOT, beginning Sunday, May 4th, northbound I-75 traffic will be detoured to accommodate work to adjust the elevation under I-475. The scheduled work is part of the $13.3 million resurfacing project that just started and is expected to last until September.

MDOT says northbound traffic will begin be rerouted from 6 a.m. on Sunday until 6 a.m. Thursday, May 8th. Northbound I-75 traffic will be rerouted north on I-475 to westbound I-69, then back to I-75. Traffic heading north toward Saginaw will be able just to continue to the north junction to access I-75 north again. Northbound US-23 will also have lane closures in effect at Bristol Road with two lanes open at all times for the duration of this work.
