Construction on a new roundabout in Genesee County will begin next week according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The roundabout will be adjacent to the northbound I-75 ramps and General Motors plant entrance. The project also includes additional intersection upgrades and signal work intended to improve safety for motorists and mitigate congestion.

MDOT says traffic on Bristol Road and the ramps to and from I-75 will be maintained with lane closure and traffic shifts. Crews will first complete pavement repairs on Bristol and the ramps between Torrey and Van Slyke. Following temporary pavement work, crews will construct the south section of the roundabout and lanes (see picture below).

Work on the $3 million roundabout on Bristol Road will begin on July 6th and is expected to be completed in November.
