A group of business owners, along with Flint Mayor Dayne Walling and a police captain, met on Thursday to discuss the establishment of a Davison Road business district in hopes of making that area safer for residents, employees and customers.

According to Mlive, nearly 30 people showed up to the gathering at Tim and Paula's Chilly's and shared ideas  that included cleaning of parking lots, installation of cameras and the sharing of information.

Some of the business owners in attendance had been victims of crime. They s had hopes that in working together with other owners, the city, and police it could go a long way into helping deter criminals.
