A water main break yesterday has prompted the city of Clio to advise residents to boil their water.

A contractor was working at Griffes Street near Railway Street when they hit a water line, which caused a leak. The leak has caused a change in water pressure, so Clio residents are being advised to boil their water until further notice.

Water is still safe for washing clothes and watering your lawn, but if you're using it for cooking, brushing teeth or washing dishes, it's advised that you boil it first.

Clio's Department of Public Works has been working to fix the problem. If you have any questions, call 810-686-5850.
