The City of Flint will hold two informational meetings on Thursday to discuss changes to the water.

The first meeting will be specifically for restaurant owners and will take place at 3 p.m. iat Cafe Rhema on Saginaw Street.  The forum will allow local managers and owners to discuss the city switching to Flint River water.

The second meeting will be for residents in the city council chambers beginning at 5:30 p.m. A study from Raftelis Financial Consultants will be discussed. Raftelis last week suggested an increase to water and sewer rates.

In a statement, Emergency Manager Darnell Earley said" the results of the study, along with items related to the use of the river for the period during which the KWA pipeline is built, will be included in this comprehensive view of the present and future of the City's water service system and what will be required to maintain its operation long term."

Both meetings come as the City of Flint prepares to begin using Flint River water as its primary water source, which is scheduled to occur sometime after Thursday.
