Cher to Star in Lifetime Movie About Flint Water Crisis
Cher will bring the Flint water crisis to the small screen, and back into the national spotlight in a Lifetime movie about the ongoing water debacle.
The movie is reported to be titled 'Flint.'
Cher will portray a Flint resident whose family is impacted by lead-tainted water. The actress has been an active proponent of Flint's cause, and has donated thousands of bottles of water to area residents. She has also been vocal in her criticism of state and city leaders.
"This is a tragedy of staggering proportion and shocking that it's happening in the middle of our country."
Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Katie Couric, and Cher will be the film's executive producers. Bruce Beresford is slated to direct the film. Its script is yet to be written, and no timeline for for production has been released.
