Captains Quarters in Burton Closed Until October 1st Due to COVID
The announcement was made on social media last Saturday, September 19th.
Captains Quarters, a popular bar/restaurant in Burton the corner of Belsay and Atherton Roads, is temporarily closing until October 1st after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
Due to COVID-19 Captains Quarters will be closed until the 1st of October 2020. Because someone was tested positive this morning

The owner, Greg Benjamin, answered several comments on their Facebook page:
One of the workers notified me Wednesday morning I contacted the health department and they told me what I had to do but when the second one contacted me this morning I took it upon myself to close down, and that’s when I made the decision. I did not have to close I chose to protect my employees in the community
It's not entirely clear when the employee who tested positive was working; the question was asked but not answered on their Facebook page.
When was the person who tested positive there? That piece of information is pertinent for those who have visited your establishment recently to know if they could have been there at the same time. For example, if the person who tested positive was there on 9/16/2020, then anyone who has been there on or after that date should be tested, but those who were there before 9/16/2020 shouldn't need to be tested. Unless it is a worker who is there frequently??? Please let us know!
It's probably safe to say that, if you were at Captains Quarters any time last week, you should keep an eye out for symptoms and get tested if need be. Glad to see that another local business is looking out for their customers and staff.
