Amazon is Bringing 1,000 New Jobs to Michigan [VIDEO]

Amazon is in the process of hiring 1,000 people for full-time jobs in West Michigan, but that number could eventually go as high as 3,000.

“These will be full-time roles that will help for our fulfillment operations, so folks will be picking, packing and shipping customer orders in a highly technological environment,” An Amazon spokesman tells WOOD-TV.

Jobs with the online giant will pay a minimum of $15 per hour and include benefits such as:

• Health insurance beginning with the first day of employment
• 401(k) with 50% match
• Paid parental leave

Amazon's Career Choice Program, which pays for 95% of tuition for select college programs

The facility is expected to open on March 8th in Kent County's Gaines Township. (Not to be confused with Gaines Township in Genesee County.)
