Gas prices are unchanged from last week, AAA Michigan reports. Michigan's current statewide average is about $2.41 per gallon, about the same as last week's average and $1.25 than this same time last year.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA, the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $2.33 per gallon. The highest average gas price can be found in the Jackson area where it's about $2.47 per gallon. As of Sunday, gas prices in and around the Flint area were slightly higher than the statewide average with prices around $2.43 per gallon, up almost 10 cents from last week.

AAA says lower gas prices may be on the way for U.S. consumers by this summer if refinery maintenance season ends smoothly and if crude oil remains relatively cheap. A possibility of increased exports from Iran would bring an estimated 500,000 barrels per day of additional oil to the market, which would add more supply to an already well-supplied market and exert further downward pressure on crude prices.

AAA surveys more than 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily. For more, and to find the cheapest prices nationwide, go to AAA.com.
