For the first time since January, the statewide average weekly gas price has dropped below $2 per gallon. AAA Michigan reports that the current statewide average is about $1.94 per gallon.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel, the lowest average prices can be found in the Flint area, where it's about $1.84 per gallon. The highest averages can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $2.06 per gallon.

According to AAA, Michigan ranked third in the nation for the largest weekly decline in gas prices. AAA also says historically, gasoline demand tends to decline during the month of November and refinery production in the Midwest has recovered.
