Gas prices across the state have jumped $.15 in the past week according to AAA Michigan. The current statewide average is about $1.71 per gallon.

Of the ten Michigan metro areas surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel prices, the lowest average price can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $1.66 per gallon. The highest average can be found in the Traverse City area where it's about $1.76 a gallon. As of Sunday, gas prices in and around the Flint area were right in line with the state average of $1.71.

AAA says crude oil prices remain volatile and continue to move on future speculation about supply and demand and typical for this time of year, refinery production is beginning to drop as many refineries prepare for seasonal maintenance ahead of summer driving season.
