AAA Michigan says gas prices in Michigan have jumped 14 cents in the past week. Michigan's current statewide average is about $2.74 per gallon.

Of the ten metropolitan areas in Michigan, the lowest gas prices can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $2.56 per gallon. The highest averages are found in the Ann Arbor area where it's around $2.77 per gallon. Gas prices in and around the Flint area were around $2.75 as of Sunday.

AAA says Michigan placed second in the nation for most expensive gas price and the upward trend is attributed to rising crude oil costs and disruption in supply, supply in the region under pressure due to unplanned refinery maintenance and tightening supply with strong gasoline demand contributing to pump prices moving highers.
