Gas prices have dropped nine cents across Michigan according to the latest Gas Price Primer from AAA Michigan.

The current statewide average is about $2.26 per gallon, nine cents less than last week and about 60 cents less than this same time last year. Of the ten Michigan metro areas surveyed by AAA for self serve unleaded fuels, the lowest average prices can be found in the Benton Harbor area where it's about $2.13 per gallon. The highest averages for the second week in a row can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $2.39 per gallon. Gas prices in and around the Flint area were averaging $2.20 as of Sunday.

AAA says Michigan ranked second in the nation for both largest weekly decline in gas prices and largest monthly decline in gas prices. Michigan also dropped down to 24th in the nation for the most expensive gas prices as of Sunday.
