For the second week in a row, AAA Michigan reports that the statewide average gas price has dropped another 13 cents.

AAA says Michigan's currents statewide average is about $1.60 per gallon and based on today's figures, the state ranks fifth in the nation for lowest statewide gas prices.

Of the ten Michigan metro area surveys for self-serve unleaded fuel prices, the lowest average price for the fourth week in a row can be found in the Lansing/East Lansing area where it's about $1.47 per gallon. The highest average price for the second week in a row can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $1.77 per gallon. Gas prices in and around the Flint area were averaging $1.50 as of Sunday.

AAA says that Michigan placed third in the nation for the largest weekly decline in gas prices and contributing to the drop is the price of crude oil remaining relatively low having dropped more than 70 percent since its June 2014 high.
