AAA Michigan: Statewide Gas Prices Drop 16 Cents

The statewide average weekly gas price has decreased about 16 cents from last week, AAA Michigan reports. The current statewide average is now about $2.84 per gallon.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel, the lowest average prices can be found in the Saginaw/Bay City/Midland area, where it's about $2.76 per gallon. The highest averages can be found in the Marquette area, where it's about $2.91 a gallon.

AAA says recent upward pressure on gas prices appears to be easing, in spite of an Indiana refinery remaining out of commission due to a malfunction reported earlier this month.
