AAA Michigan says for the second week in a row, the statewide average weekly gas price has decreased. Michigan's current statewide average is about $2.72 per gallon, 11 cents less than last week's average.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel, the lowest averages can be found in the Jackson area where it's about $2.49 per gallon. The highest averages can be found in the Ann Arbor area where it's about $2.83 per gallon. Gas prices in and around the Flint area around $2.56 per gallon.

AAA says lower global crude oil prices are contributing downward pressure on gasoline prices across the nation and political considerations in Greece and the lifting of sanctions in Iran remain front and center for market watchers. AAA also says gas prices could drop significantly after Labor Day as people drive less, and the health of the Chinese and European economies may have a huge bearing on supply and demand going forward.
