The statewide average weekly gas price has dropped about seven cents according to AAA Michigan.

Michigan's current statewide average is about $1.83 per gallon, down seven cents from last week and 43 cents less than this same time last year.

Of the ten Michigan metro areas surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel prices, the lowest averages can be found in the Lansing/East Lansing area where it's about $1.72 per gallon. The highest averages can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $1.96 per gallon. Gas prices in and around the Flint area were averaging $1.77 as of Sunday.

AAA says crude oil has tumbled 60 percent compared to June 2014 as global supply continues to outpace demand and this imbalance is likely to continue into 2016 which should keep a ceiling on oil prices.
