The statewide average daily gas price has dropped ten cents after last week's ten cent increase. According to AAA Michigan, the current statewide average is about $2.24 per gallon.

Of the ten Michigan metro areas surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel prices, the lowest average price can be found in the Traverse City area where it's about $2.15 per gallon. The highest average price can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $2.33 per gallon. Gas prices were averaging $2.15 per gallon as of Sunday in and around the Flint area.

AAA says Michigan is stuck in the middle this week when it comes to the national ranking. Michigan is 25th in the nation for most expensive average daily gas prices and 27th in the nation for least expensive average daily gas price. Pump prices in the Great Lakes region remain impacted by two factors - seasonal refinery work at key plants and replenishment of inventory lost last month.
