Three individuals charged with child abuse after beating an 11-year-old and posting the video on Facebook were back in court Wednesday afternoon.

According to ABC 12, all three - Uteas Taylor, Stefan Felton and the mother of the child - waived their rights to a preliminary exam. The hearing would have determined if there was enough evidence to send them to trial.

An attorney for Taylor said they were waiving the exam to allow further negotiations with the court, which could mean a plea is coming. Taylor is not biologically related to the child and is the one seen in the video striking him repeatedly with a belt. Authorities say Felton, her boyfriend, recorded it. The boy's mother is seen slapping him in the face. The adults were upset about what the boy had been posting about himself on Facebook and were apparently trying to teach him a lesson.

Each is charged with conspiracy to commit third degree child abuse, third degree child abuse and third degree child abuse committed in front of another child. All three remain in jail.
