The South Parks Neighborhood Patrol Association is holding a crime walk on Saturday, October 29th in an effort to discourage criminal activity throughout the community and the entire city of Flint.

The walk will be a demonstration of solidarity between the different block clubs, crime watches, neighborhood associations, and the general public according to Lewis Wright, Publicity Director for the South Parks Neighborhood Patrol Association.

The partnership of groups includes: Neighborhood Block Clubs, Community Seniors, Community Youth, Howard Estates, Evergreen Neighborhood Watch, South Side Action Committee for Social Reform, and the Evergreen Estates Block Club Association.

The 3.2 mile walk starts at 10 a.m. and begins and ends at the Quinn Chapel Church. According to Wright, this is the first walk for a group that started up about two years ago. He expects 200-300 walkers and have asked local dignitaries to join them. A rally at the Second Chance Church takes place immediately after.
