Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) will give remarks at a benefit dinner being held in support of Amir Hekmati's freedom.

Hekmati is a former Marine and Flint native who has been held in captivity in Iran for nearly two years. Just last month, Kildee sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry calling on the U.S. Department of State to prioritize attaining the release of Hekmati. The letter was signed and supported by 112 Members of Congress.

The dinner will be held Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms.
