Thunderstorms, Hail, And Even A Tornado Possible For Southeast Michigan On Friday
Its not even Spring yet and Michigan is expecting some serious weather this Friday and we're not talking snow.
We've had snow this month, sunshine, 65 degree temps, and now to end the month of February Michigan might even have thunderstorms and a tornado. If that isn't Pure Michigan I don't know what is.
According to the National Weather Service this Friday (February 24th) is going to be a very interesting day for Southeast Michigan. Not only is it going to rain in February, but the NWS is also calling for a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning means a thunderstorm producing hail one inch or larger in diameter and/or winds equal or exceed 58 miles an hour. It also means tornadoes are totally possible with little to no warning. Sure, the possibility of a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is only 30% for Friday, but its FEBRUARY! This is SPRING weather!
I mean seriously though, look at the upcoming forecast for the next week.
Sunshine, rain, severe thunderstorm warning, and then back to 35 degrees for a high by Sunday. Welcome to living in Michigan!
