‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6’s Back Half Will Have ‘A Whole Lot of Daryl’
However much the first half of The Walking Dead Season 6 spent jumping around time and perspective, few would argue that our beloved Daryl got the short end of the stick, leading only a solitary episode, and losing his iconic motorcycle and crossbow in the process. Our long national nightmare has ended, however, as the back eight will feature much more Norman Reedus, even “a little Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” action with Rick.
TVInsider had a chance to catch up with The Walking Dead crew filming the second half of Season 6, revealing among other teases that fans would have their fill of Daryl, no longer jumping around in time either. Last we saw Daryl, he, Sasha and Abraham had trouble making new friends, while showrunner Scott Gimple previews of the upcoming episodes:
We put Norman through his paces. He’s very scary in this back half, but there are a couple of moments where he made me laugh out loud. There is a whole lot of Daryl and a wide variety of Daryl.
Reedus and Andrew Lincoln also offered of of their upcoming “little adventure”:
Reedus: We have a little Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid–type thing going on
Lincoln: It’s safe to say that we get to do the tango, much to everyone’s excitement.
The back half of The Walking Dead Season 6 will introduce at least three major comic characters as well, including Xander Berkeley as the leader of a new community, as well Tom Payne as its athletic emissary, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the biggest big bad of them all, Negan. The report also confirmed that Negan will debut with the April 3 finale.
We’ll hopefully have a real trailer soon, but in the meantime, check out the latest Walking Dead Season 6 photos and teasers below, and stay tuned for more on the February 14 return.
