‘Project Tim’ Could Bring 1,000 New Jobs to Durand Area [VIDEO]

The Ohio-based company New Steel International Inc. could be bringing about 1,000 new jobs to Shiawassee County.

City leaders in Durand are not able to provide many details about the endeavor which is being dubbed 'Project Tim,' but so far we know that a steel manufacturing plant is being proposed on 1,000 acres of vacant farmland near I-69.

No timeline for construction of the project has been established yet.
